§ 02

From idea to granted

A filing is a sequence, and every stage is on the record. Here is the order it runs in — and where your matter sits at any moment.

01
Consult

A free first call to understand the idea, the business and whether it's protectable — no jargon, no obligation.

02
Search

A prior-art or clearance search so you file with eyes open, and a written opinion on your odds.

03
Draft

Specifications, claims, representation sheets or forms drafted by counsel, sent to you for sign-off.

04
File

Submission to the appropriate registry, with your application number and receipt shared the same day.

05
Prosecute

We answer objections and examination reports and represent you through to a decision.

06
Grant & keep

Certificate in hand — then renewal reminders so protection never lapses by accident.

§ 03

Cheap should never mean careless

Low fees are the promise. Verified counsel and a clean record are how we keep it. Four things we hold to.

Tenet i

Verified lawyers only

Every matter is handled by a registered advocate or patent agent whose credentials you can ask to see. No anonymous middlemen.

Tenet ii

Fees printed, not negotiated

Flat, published rates with government fees shown separately. You approve the total before a single form is filed.

Tenet iii

All of India, one desk

Patent office, trademark registry, MCA and copyright office — filed from wherever you are, tracked in one place.

Tenet iv

Status you can see

Application numbers, receipts and deadlines shared as they happen — updates on WhatsApp, so nothing is a mystery.

§ 04

Fees, on the record

Indicative starting professional fees. Government and statutory fees are additional and always shown separately on your quote.

§ 05

Questions, answered

The things clients ask before they file — including the two that matter most: how long it takes, and what happens if a deadline is missed.

How long does a patent actually take in India?

Examination alone commonly runs 18–30 months after a request is filed, and the full lifecycle to grant can take longer depending on objections. We give you a realistic timeline up front, not a sales estimate — and you can see exactly what stage your filing is at, any time, in your tracking portal.

How do I know what's happening with my filing?

Every matter gets a live status page at bharatpatents.tech/track/, plus WhatsApp updates whenever the stage changes — no need to call us or dig through the government portal yourself.

What happens if a deadline is missed?

A missed response to an examination report can get an application marked "Abandoned" — losing your rights, sometimes permanently. This is the single biggest risk in the process, which is why we send automatic reminders at 7, 3 and 1 day(s) before any deadline on your matter.

Are the fees really flat?

Yes — professional fees are published (see above) and government fees are always itemised separately on your quote before anything is filed. Nothing is added later.

Who actually handles my filing?

A registered advocate or patent agent, not an anonymous case handler — you can ask to see credentials for whoever is on your matter.

§ 06 · Start a filing

Tell us the idea.
We'll tell you the path.

Send a line about what you want to protect. A verified lawyer replies with the right route, the fee and the timeline — usually within a working day.
